The GCOI Sr. TPM owns the Grocery Catalog Integrity domain within WW Grocery Stores - a strategic charter responsible for the programs, data products, and monitoring capabilities that ensure Grocery's catalog is accurate, trusted, and operationally reliable at worldwide scale. This is a high-visibility role operating across two complementary pillars: an active S-team goal and a foundational business intelligence portfolio that together underpin multiple VP-level business objectives.
Grocery Duplicate Reduction is an Amazon Retail S-team goal targeting a critical catalog defect where a single product barcode maps to multiple product identifiers - causing associate scan failures, inventory inaccuracy, and customer availability issues across physical grocery operations worldwide. The goal is to reduce the end-to-end merge resolution process from thousands of hours to under 24 hours through automated system integration, supporting a broader cross-organizational effort to reduce barcode defect rates by 70% across North America and Europe ($1.5MM in annual savings, 27K+ hours of manual work eliminated). As the single-threaded program management owner, this TPM maintains the master program plan across 25+ grocery-specific systems spanning inventory, online availability, merchandising, buying initiation, item location, and associate workflow tools. They manage cross-organizational dependencies across 14+ engineering teams, drive risk identification and mitigation on a program with active delivery pressure, and own executive reporting with VP-level readiness across all worldwide grocery marketplaces and business types.
Grocery Catalog BI Products is the foundational data and monitoring layer that measures and enables catalog integrity across Grocery. The portfolio carries $255MM+ in attributed business impact and directly underpins multiple S-team and VP-level goals - including duplicate reduction, perishable supply chain optimization ($77MM), catalog quality and buyability ($188MM), and cross-banner attribute management ($49MM in preventable liquidation risk). As the embedded TPM for the Grocery Catalog BI team, this TPM owns delivery execution and operational rhythm across 10+ production and in-development data products - including foundational catalog datasets serving 1.75M+ ASINs, catalog health monitoring systems, regulatory compliance scoring, and a 2026 GenAI-powered defect detection initiative replacing multiple legacy monitoring systems. They drive structured stakeholder adoption across consuming teams spanning catalog operations, product management, supply chain, vendor operations, and multiple downstream engineering organizations. They own the strategic communications layer - authoring program status documents and business impact narratives that connect BI delivery to executive-level goals in business review forums. They also establish the documentation standards, SLAs, and monitoring structures that move the team from reactive operations to proactive, production-grade data product management.
What we're looking for: This role requires a TPM who can operate with limited guidance across ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces. The right candidate brings strong cross-functional program management fundamentals, the technical depth to engage meaningfully with data engineering and catalog system architecture, and the communication skills to translate complex technical delivery into crisp business narratives for Director-and-above audiences. They are comfortable holding a complex, multi-team schedule together under pressure, building visibility where little exists today, and connecting day-to-day execution to measurable business outcomes.
This TPM partners closely with a Principal Product Manager and Senior Software Engineer on Duplicate Reduction, and works directly with BI engineers, catalog product and operations teams, and a broad set of downstream stakeholders on BI Products. The role sits within WW Grocery Stores and operates across multiple catalog, retail science, and operations technology organizations.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program management for the Grocery Duplicate Reduction S-team goal, maintaining the master plan across 25+ grocery-specific systems, coordinating 14+ engineering teams, and driving the reduction of merge process execution from 5K+ hours to under 24 hours
- Serve as the embedded TPM for the Grocery Catalog BI team, owning sprint cadences, backlog prioritization, milestone tracking, and delivery execution across a 10+ product portfolio with $255MM+ in attributed business impact
- Manage cross-organizational dependencies and risk across complex, multi-team programs - proactively identifying blockers, driving mitigation plans, and escalating appropriately in high-pressure delivery environments
- Drive structured stakeholder adoption of foundational data products across catalog operations, product management, supply chain, and engineering organizations - identifying integration opportunities, managing onboarding, and tracking active usage
- Own strategic communications and executive reporting - authoring program status documents, business impact narratives, and leadership review materials that connect technical delivery to S-team and VP-level business outcomes for Director-and-above audiences
- Establish operational maturity for the BI portfolio - including documentation standards, data product SLAs, refresh cycle targets, and proactive monitoring structures
A day in the life
Your day starts with reviewing metrics dashboards tracking progress on the Duplicate Reduction S-team goal and checking in on the BIE team's sprint progress - identifying blockers, confirming milestone status, and ensuring delivery stays on track. You'll unblock critical path dependencies between engineering teams on the merge automation program, then facilitate a cross-functional working session to align stakeholders on requirements for a new catalog monitoring capability. You prepare executive summaries translating technical progress into business impact terms for an upcoming leadership reviews, and connect with downstream teams that haven't yet onboarded to a foundational dataset they'd benefit from. Throughout the day, you move fluidly between the two pillars - partnering with BIEs, Product teams, and Catalog Operations to maintain program momentum on the S-team initiative while driving visibility and adoption for the BI portfolio.
