The Copilot and Agent Ecosystem team is on a mission to integrate intelligent agents into business applications, simplify workflows, and increase productivity. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our team!

Role Summary

Identifies opportunities and gaps within products or functional areas and builds strong cross-team connections to design scalable architecture and integrated solutions. Collaborates across divisions to define goals, success criteria, and performance metrics for key initiatives, and works closely with strategic customers, internal and external partners to implement processes that enable cross-functional programs. Partners with technical and business teams to shape the roadmap, manages project schedules using automation and AI tools, and drives performance tracking and reporting to support continuous improvement. Additionally, contributes to execution excellence by mentoring peers, sharing best practices, and ensuring project delivery meets quality and impact expectations.

By integrating knowledge of program administration, resource optimization, and quality measurements, they deliver impactful solutions while maintaining project integrity and continuous improvement.

This involves using facts and logic to resolve challenges, systematically gathering and analyzing information from diverse sources, drawing conclusions, generating solutions, and evaluating their impact using quality metrics. Responsibilities

  • Analysis of Customer and Business Needs: Proactively identifies opportunities and gaps across products or functional areas by engaging with customers and stakeholders, gathering feedback, and analyzing industry trends and requirements. Uses data and advanced toolsincluding AI and automationto uncover complex patterns, generate and test hypotheses, and inform solution development. Builds strong division-level connections to align experiences across products and collaborates with teams to refine problem statements, design experiments, and determine priorities based on research and industry insights. Ensures proposed solutions align with Microsoft's goals and strategy, drives system and process improvements to accelerate insight generation, and contributes to the creation of solution roadmaps that address dependencies and evolving market needs.
  • Product/Service/Solution Definition: Translates organizational needs into actionable program goals and priorities across multiple product and functional areas using data-driven insights. Manages risk end-to-end by applying data, telemetry, and advanced toolsincluding AI and automationto drive both proactive and reactive mitigation strategies. Defines success criteria and performance metrics such as OKRs and KPIs, establishes required telemetry, and enables clear visibility into return on investment. Collaborates closely with Engineering, Marketing, Design, Security, and other cross-functional partners to design integrated technical architectures, evaluate solution options, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver optimal technical solutions.
  • Product/Service/Solution Development: Partners with technical and business stakeholders to deliver on product roadmaps, ensuring clarity on value propositions and addressing technical inquiries. Justifies capacity needs, supports resource planning decisions, and contributes to the integration of AI features that meet quality, security, and ethical standards while aligning capabilities with evolving goals and tradeoffs. Ensures work remains compliant with privacy, security, accessibility, and other legal and business requirements. Tracks, coordinates, and communicates project schedules using automation and AI tools, manages dependencies, enforces process adherence, and adjusts plans as needed. Develops and executes implementation plans that align with objectives and key metrics, collaborates with stakeholders to monitor progress, and helps teams validate outcomes and performance targets. Additionally, drives cross-functional collaboration to deliver integrated programs and solutions by aligning perspectives across teams, resolving tradeoffs, and supporting continuous improvement in program management practices.
  • Product/Service/Solution Performance: Owns the customer support experience by creating comprehensive documentation, monitoring product and service usage, and leveraging automation and AI to conduct root-cause analysis for live-site incidents. Continuously improves support processes by collaborating across forums, communities, and partner teams to drive broad live-site enhancements. Serves as a technical advisor in customer engagements, educating stakeholders on product capabilities, gathering feedback, and deeply understanding user experiences. Partners with Engineering, Design, and other functions to collect and analyze key performance metrics, report progress, and generate actionable insights using tools such as AI and customer listening systems. Forms hypotheses, conducts experiments, and iterates based on findings to drive performance improvements, while ensuring insights and recommendations are shared with relevant partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 2+ years of software industry experience, with demonstrated collaboration and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation - to peers and executives).
  • 2+ years of proficiency as a program or product manager.
  • 1+ years(s) of understanding and history developing distributed and/or cloud-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software industry experience, with demonstrated collaboration and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation - to peers and executives).
  • 5+ years of proficiency as a program or product manager.
