KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer & Technical Interface Act as the single-point technical/project interface for railway customers.
- Lead customer meetings, design reviews, technical discussions and project reviews.
- Understand customer specifications, drawings, requirements and contractual deliverables.
- Manage customer technical queries, clarifications, complaints and escalations through timely closure.
- Present project status, risks, technical issues and recovery actions to customers and management.
- Project Leadership & Execution Own projects from kick-off → engineering → validation → manufacturing → testing → delivery.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables and critical paths.
- Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain and suppliers.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks and dependencies and drive corrective actions.
- Lead cross-functional project reviews and ensure action closure.
- Engineering & Product Development Coordinate 3D modelling, 2D drawings, BOMs, engineering changes and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing feasibility and applicable standards.
- Drive design reviews, validation, verification and engineering change management.
- Work closely with PLM/ERP teams to ensure proper configuration and release of engineering data.
- Quality & Problem Solving Lead resolution of technical issues, NCRs and customer complaints.
- Drive structured RCA, 8D/CAPA and corrective-action processes.
- Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into subsequent projects.
MUST HAVE
- 5–10 years of experience, preferably in railway/rail coach, transportation or complex engineering projects.
- Strong experience in customer-facing project management.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end engineering/project execution.
- Good understanding of railway coach interiors, structures, assemblies or systems.
- Ability to interpret 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs and engineering specifications.
- Experience with engineering change management and configuration control.
- Strong project planning, risk management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer-management skills.
- Engineering degree – Mechanical / Production / Industrial or related discipline.
PREFERRED
- Railway OEM / Tier-1 / rail coach manufacturing experience.
- Experience with SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent CAD platforms.
- Exposure to PLM and SAP/ERP systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, materials and mechanical engineering standards.
- Exposure to sheet metal, fabrication, machining and FRP/composite products.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, design validation and verification.
- Experience working with international railway customers and suppliers.
