Manager, Software Engineer (Guidewire Technology Manager)

As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for a suite of in house or third-party applications. You'll lead teams of technology professionals to enable business outcomes and provide dependable customer-centric solutions and experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Partners with leaders to ensure a viable total cost of ownership and ongoing health and wellness of applications.
- Assists in the development and implementation of application suite roadmaps through the evaluation of business needs, competitive landscape, technology currency and information security considerations.
- Manages risk mitigation controls and provides support for internal and external audits.
- Supports the engineering build of the application suite and non-technical efforts for the products.
- Represents voice of the customer, acts in a forward-facing role to business partners as an active member of a portfolio management team in the advocation of business case development, planning, financial management and evaluation of portfolio.
- Hire and develop talent, provide consistent coaching and feedback.
- Responsible for delivery availability and resiliency following established operating

Qualification Criteria
Education: BE/ BTech in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or related field is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- 10 plus years of experience in enterprise application development, including 5 plus years working with Guidewire such as PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter
- Strong experience supporting rating capabilities and state regulatory changes within insurance
- Proven success leading Agile teams in a distributed onshore and offshore model
- Ability to partner effectively with business, product, and actuarial stakeholders and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Six years of experience in application suite management with four years or more leading numerous teams across multiple technologies. Proven experience/understanding of concepts and techniques in project delivery, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis. Detailed understanding and knowledge of the systems development life cycle and modern methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques.

Additional Information:
- An addition to core Guidewire Technology Manager responsibilities, this role offers the opportunity to lead the Flash Auto Guidewire pod within the business group, with full ownership of technical delivery for state specific auto rating changes from pilot through multi state rollout. You will play a hands on role in shaping solutions across rating models, state rules, integrations, and automation, ensuring compliant and audit ready outcomes.
- You will partner closely with Agile, Product, Actuarial, and Compliance teams to translate complex state filing requirements into scalable and reusable Guidewire capabilities, while also elevating engineering standards and delivery practices across the team. This position provides strong visibility and impact, combining technical leadership with the opportunity to guide a high performing team and influence a key growth initiative.
