Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead- Engineering to join our team in PUNE. This role involves leading the design and development of critical automotive components, specifically within Body-in-White (BIW) and Closures systems, leveraging advanced Catia expertise. The successful candidate will drive technical excellence and mentor a team of engineers.

Job Description:
1. Lead the design, development, and integration of BIW and Closures components, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
2. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of engineers, fostering their growth and skill development.
3. Utilize Catia extensively for complex 3D modeling, surfacing, assembly design, and drafting of automotive components.
4. Conduct thorough design reviews, identify potential issues, and implement effective solutions to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including styling, manufacturing, CAE, and testing to ensure seamless product development.
6. Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and design reports.
7. Analyze and resolve complex technical challenges related to BIW structures, stamping, welding, and Closures mechanisms.
8. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal company guidelines.
9. Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
10. Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive engineering, particularly in BIW, Closures, and Catia technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
4 to 10 years of progressive experience in automotive product development, with a strong focus on BIW and Closures systems.
Proven experience in a technical leadership or senior engineering role.

Technical Skills:
Expert proficiency in Catia V5 or 3DExperience for part design, surface modeling, assembly, and drafting.
In-depth knowledge of Body-in-White (BIW) structures, materials, manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, assembly), and performance requirements.
Strong understanding of Closures systems design, including doors, hoods, decklids, and their associated mechanisms, sealing, and integration.
Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application.
Basic understanding of CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) principles and their application in design validation.
Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems is an advantage.
