Role: Tech Lead / Staff Engineer

About the Role
The Tech Lead / Staff Engineer is the most senior hands-on engineer in the developer cell, providing technical direction, code quality oversight, and architectural integrity for all in-house builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and enforce coding standards, review practices, and architectural patterns across the developer cell
- Lead in-house development of prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and new feature builds as directed by the Head of Engineering
- Review vendor HLDs and LLDs for technical soundness before build commences
- Own CI/CD pipeline design and standards for in-house builds (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Helm)
- Provide cross-cutting architectural guidance across frontend, backend, data, and mobile teams
- Mentor mid-level engineers in the developer cell; conduct code reviews and technical retrospectives
- Ensure all in-house code meets NEGD security, performance, and documentation standards before handover to vendors
What We Are Looking For
- Full-stack or backend-heavy technical leader with hands-on production experience across the SIDH stack (Java Spring Boot, NestJS, React, AWS, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and DevSecOps practices
- Experience leading small engineering teams in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments
Good to Have
- Experience in govtech or public digital infrastructure platforms
- Familiarity with ArgoCD, Helm, SonarQube, and OpenShift/ROSA
