Job Description

Position: Software Development Team Lead

Location: Bangalore

Work Mode: on-site

Min-Max Experience: 5+ years

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Team Lead to lead a team of software engineers and developers in delivering high-quality enterprise software solutions for customer projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with people leadership capabilities, driving software development initiatives while mentoring team members and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.

This role will collaborate closely with architects, business analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to oversee the complete software development lifecycle, support product innovation, and ensure successful project delivery aligned with business objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Drive execution and delivery of software development projects while ensuring high-quality outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives.

• Provide technical leadership to development teams through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

• Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing and promoting engineering best practices and development standards.

• Identify opportunities for team growth, skill enhancement, and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, software architects, and stakeholders to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications.

• Participate in requirement gathering, documentation, effort estimation, user story creation, and project planning activities.

• Prepare and maintain reports, technical documentation, user manuals, and operational documents related to software solutions.

• Ensure development teams have access to the necessary tools, processes, resources, and technical support required for successful project delivery.

• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle and ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.

• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established development standards and best practices.

• Participate in solution design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to ensure quality and maintainability.

• Evaluate opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of engineering best practices.

• Deliver software solutions while adhering to quality, timeline, and budget expectations.

• Research, evaluate, and recommend software technologies, tools, and products that support business and technical objectives.

• Communicate project schedules, delivery expectations, and quality standards effectively to team members and stakeholders.

• Conduct annual performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support employee development, engagement, and performance improvement.

• Participate in recruitment activities, including candidate screening, technical interviews, and hiring decisions.

• Support project kick-off meetings, project initiation activities, and stakeholder discussions as required.

Desired Skills & Experience Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as a Software Developer

• Experience with hands-on technical management of resources

• Prior experience in a technical leadership position

• College or University degree in Computer Science.

• Willing to travel 15-20% of time for software implementation

Core Competency Requirements:

• Proficient with Microsoft .NET version 4.0+ development using C#

• In depth knowledge and experience with core Microsoft .Net technologies including: WCF, WPF, WF, LINQ and EF

• Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise grade software

• Experience working with key stakeholders to align on objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risk

• Experience with source control management systems and continuous integration/deployment environments Experience with automated testing

• Experience with multi-threading and concurrency

• Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization

• Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories

• Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment

• Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders
