Your role
The Main Responsibilities Are
- Architect and maintain robust database solutions across SQL Server and Azure platforms.
- Design and optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads.
- Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Lead performance tuning efforts including query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Collaborate with solution architects and developers to align database design with business needs.
- Implement best practices for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Drive automation initiatives for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and SQL developers.
- Stay ahead of emerging cloud-native database technologies and recommend adoption where beneficial
To succeed, you will need
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in database engineering and SQL development.
- Advanced expertise in SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (ER diagrams, normalization, dimensional modeling).
- Proven experience in query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with SQL development (stored procedures, triggers, views, functions).
- Experience with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Cosmos DB).
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and hybrid architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor teams, and collaborate across functions.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Preferred certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate
