Optical Designers - Bangalore

Design Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex optical systems for process, metrology, or imaging modules used in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Model optical components using simulation tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V), perform tolerance analysis, and optimize system performance.
- Interface with electrical and mechanical system teams for product integration, manufacturability, and quality control.
- Define test protocols, perform optical system validation, and provide technical support during manufacturing ramp-up.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in optical design, modeling, and analysis for precision instrumentation.
- Experience with optomechanical assemblies and semiconductor/industrial automation applications.
- Strong skills with optical design software, and familiarity with cleanroom and wafer-level equipment environments.
- Good verbal/written communication and cross-team collaboration experience.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using Autodesk Inventor, including part modeling, assembly design, and drawing creation.
- Experience in Teamcenter PLM for managing design data, BOMs, workflows, and engineering change processes.
- Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis, DFM/DFA reviews, and support prototype builds.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards and mechanical documentation practices.
- Strong understanding of mechanical integration with electrical and control systems in semiconductor tools.
Experience Level:
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in high-precision or semiconductor equipment domains.
- Proven track record of working/leading design projects from concept to production, including cross-functional collaboration and supplier engagement.
