Job Title: Sr. Design/Lead Engineer- Interior
Location: PUNE
Experience: 3-11 years
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Design/Lead Engineer to spearhead the design and development of interior systems. This role demands a strong technical background in automotive interiors, proficiency in CATIA, and a proven ability to lead projects from concept to production. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering innovative and high-quality interior solutions.
Job Description:
1. Lead the design and development of interior components and systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
2. Ensure timely delivery of all interior elements according to the overall project schedule and milestones.
3. Proactively identify, analyze, and escalate critical design and engineering issues related to interior systems to relevant management and chief engineers.
4. Adhere strictly to vehicle specification books, feature lists, and Color, Material, Finish (CMF) specifications throughout the interior design process.
5. Establish and maintain common standards and templates for technical specifications, Design Verification Plans (DVP), and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) for interior systems, organizing regular technical reviews.
Skills and Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
. 3 to 11 years of progressive experience in automotive interior design and development.
. Proven expertise in CATIA V5/V6 for part design, surfacing, and assembly.
. Strong understanding of automotive interior systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements.
. Experience with DVP, DFMEA, and other quality and reliability tools.
. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and resolve complex technical issues.
. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
. Oversee the complete lifecycle of interior component development from concept to production.
. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
. Conduct thorough design reviews and ensure all designs meet performance, cost, and quality targets.
. Interface with suppliers, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure seamless integration and validation of interior systems.
. Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive interior design.
