Job Description

About The Role

We are seeking a strong Technical Lead Hardware Engineer to design the digital and mixed-signal boards at the heart of SolarEdge's advanced energy storage products. This is a hands-on design role for an engineer with deep, real-world experience in the disciplines that make or break a mixed-signal design — grounding, EMI, robust communication, and accurate measurement — and in how these are verified at the board and full-system level.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Define system architecture and converter topology selection for new product lines; conduct trade-off analysis on efficiency, cost, size, and reliability
  • Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers; review detailed designs, simulations, PCB layouts, firmware code, and test results
  • Review & Designing digital and mixed-signal boards, from concept through mass production
  • Review & Designing accurate measurements, robust communication, grounding, and power distribution — at both board and system level
  • Owning verification and characterization of your Project designs, on the bench and within the complete system
  • Taking technical ownership of subsystems and driving them independently
  • Contributing to design reviews and mentoring junior engineers
  • Working in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborating across departments and sites

Requirements:

Requirements

  • B.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics Or related Engineering Streams. Masters/PhD is Preferred.
  • 12+ years of hands-on mixed-signal HW design, taken to mass production
  • Deep expertise in precise analog measurement — accuracy budgeting, error sources, calibration — and in verifying accuracy at board and system level
  • Strong command of grounding, return-path, and power-distribution design
  • EMI/EMC design-for-compliance experience — designed in up front, not fixed late
  • Experience designing robust, noise-immune communication links (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, differential) — protocol-agnostic; robustness, isolation, and signal integrity are what matter
  • Experience designing protection circuits (overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit)
  • Knowledge of power electronics and DC-DC converters (Buck, Boost, Flyback, Forward)
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, or PSIM
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and lab bring-up skills, with a systematic verification mindset
  • Experience with high-density, multilayer PCB layout
  • Strong command of AI tools and a demonstrated ability to leverage them to accelerate engineering work — analysis, documentation, scripting, and debugging
  • Strong documentation skills — design reviews and product lifecycle management

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) or energy storage technologies (Li-Ion, Solid State, etc.)
  • Familiarity with functional safety concepts and safety standards for battery and energy storage systems
  • Understanding of thermal management in electronic designs
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in electronics (CE, UL, etc.)
