Technical Lead -Bridges- CEng

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Technical Lead- Bridges to join the UK iCRC Communities team to work alongside our UK discipline.

We are looking for rounded individuals responsible for planning and managing the delivery of projects, including adequacy of design, assessment compliance with standards and legislation, resource time, cost and quality.

RoleResponsibilities

• CENG (chartership) from a reputed UK institution (ICE or IStructE) is a must for this role.
• Leading a team of engineers and technicians, engineering design, assessment, design, and inspection report writing, responsible for technical delivering and signing-off the projects.
• Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW) in relation to structural schemes.
• Experience of Grillage, Space Frame and FEM analysis software packages like LUSAS, MIDAS etc.
• Experience of design or assessment of steel, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures as per Euro and BS codes.
• Carry out design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) inclusive of providing guidance to junior engineers
• Inspires and motivates staff toward professional progression and technical excellence.
• Builds an inclusive staff culture.
• Grows and retains technical talent
• Drives and improves levels of professional qualification and membership with relevantbodies within the CAM iCRC.
• Creates and supports innovation
• Provides clarity and direction for staff on technical issues and responsible for quality assurance
• Promotes collaboration across the wider WSP business. Effective communication, client handling, and interpersonal skills are essential.
