Tech Lead - IFRS Data Transformation
The Tech Lead will be responsible for the technical leadership, architectural design, and quality assurance of the data transformation pipeline feeding the IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) solution. This role requires hands-on involvement and a deep understanding of financial data flows and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership & Architecture:
- Lead the design and implementation of the end-to-end data transformation pipeline from source systems to the IFRS solution.
- Select and define the appropriate technologies and tools for data ingestion, staging, and transformation (ETL/ELT).
- Ensure the pipeline architecture is scalable, resilient, and meets IFRS data integrity and audit requirements.
- Data Transformation & Quality:
- Oversee the development of complex data transformation logic to map source data into the required IFRS format and structure.
- Define and enforce data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and validation rules at each stage of the pipeline.
- Ensure all transformations are documented and align with regulatory compliance standards.
- Team & Project Management:
- Mentor and guide the development team, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts and IFRS solution specialists to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Manage technical debt, monitor pipeline performance, and plan capacity upgrades.
- Source System Integration:
- Oversee the connectivity and secure data extraction from diverse source systems (e.g., core banking, trading platforms, general ledger).
- Design the staging area schema to efficiently handle raw, large-volume data.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years in data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, and data architecture, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead capacity.
- Technical Expertise: Expert proficiency in a major ETL/ELT tool (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue) and advanced SQL/T-SQL.
- Financial Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial data concepts (e.g., accounting ledgers, transactions, balance sheets) and experience with financial reporting standards like IFRS 9 or IFRS 17.
- Architecture Skills: Proven experience designing data models (relational/dimensional) and managing large-scale data staging environments.
