While legacy tools focus on pre-ride planning (TrainingPeaks, Zwift) or post-ride post-mortems (Strava, Intervals.icu), Domestique.live acts as an active digital Directeur Sportif while the rider is pedaling. By pairing live sensor telemetry (Bluetooth power meters, HR monitors, cadence) with real-time edge AI models and 26g open-ear bone conduction audio hardware, we deliver instantaneous voice directives (pacing, W balance threshold protection, interval timing) directly to the rider without taking their eyes off the road or blocking ambient traffic noise.
The Opportunity: Technical Founder in Residence (TFiR)
We are seeking a hands-on, high-velocity Technical Founder in Residence to serve as the lead technical architect for Domestique.live at our Vizag innovation hub. As TFiR, you will own the entire end-to-end technical stack—from BLE device integrations and real-time biometric edge computing to iOS/Android mobile apps and bone-conduction hardware firmware. Working side-by-side with the leadership, you will scale our tech stack from working prototype to global mass commercialization. Upon hitting key product and engineering milestones, this role transitions into a permanent Co-Founder & CTO role with equity ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture & Real-Time AI Engine: Architect and build the core edge-AI engine that processes live Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor streams (power, cadence, heart rate) to calculate physiological metrics (e.g., live W balance, fatigue curves) with sub-150ms processing latency.
- Design adaptive text-to-speech (TTS) logic that delivers concise, context-aware audio directives via bone-conduction hardware without overwhelming the rider.
Mobile & Ecosystem Integration
- Lead the development of our iOS and Android mobile applications.
- Build seamless two-way API integrations and sync bridges with third-party cycling platforms (Garmin, Wahoo, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Intervals.icu, Join.cc, Zwift).
Hardware & Firmware Oversight
- Collaborate with embedded hardware manufacturing partners on firmware optimization, power management (10-hour battery target for the 26g frame), and BLE protocol stability.
- Ensure low-latency audio transmission and clear acoustic delivery over open-ear transducers in high-wind environments.
Technical Team Leadership (Vizag Hub)
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team in Vizag spanning mobile developers, firmware/IoT engineers, and AI/ML researchers.
- Establish agile engineering workflows, automated testing pipelines, and CI/CD for both software releases and firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates.
What We Are Looking For
- Engineering Background: 5+ years of technical experience, with a track record of building and scaling complex software, IoT/embedded systems, or mobile engineering products. Prior startup founder/founding engineer experience is highly preferred.
Core Tech Stack Proficiency:
- Strong expertise in mobile app development (Flutter, React Native, Swift, or Kotlin).
- Hands-on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols, sensor data streaming, and edge processing.
- Familiarity with Python, C/C++ (for embedded systems/firmware), and cloud backend infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- AI & Telemetry Processing: Exposure to real-time data processing, mathematical modeling, or lightweight machine learning at the edge.
- Domain Passion: High affinity for sports technology, wearable tech, or endurance sports (cycling, running, triathlon). Being a cyclist who understands power meters and training metrics is a major advantage!
Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Visakhapatnam (Vizag) to lead local R&D and engineering operations.
