Purpose of the role
The Technical Engineer II - Microsoft Platform, End User Computingis responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving end‑user technology services across the enterprise.
Working in consultation with key business stakeholders, delivering enhancements and providing support on End Point Computing areas like SCCM, Application packaging, OSD Imaging, Intune etc.
Serve as champion for Digital Workplace productivity tools in a transformational and geographically diverse corporate environment. Encourage and help facilitate the adoption of new ways of working in End Point Computing.
This role focuses on ensuring that employees have reliable, secure, and efficient access to the technology they need to perform their jobs effectively. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of desktop operating systems, application deployment, virtual desktop infrastructure, and endpoint security.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
. Define and maintain the EUC technology roadmap (devices, OS, collaboration tools, endpoint management where applicable).
. Hands-on knowledge on SCCM troubleshooting & infrastructure management, Application packaging, OSD Imaging Task sequences, Autopilot, Driver management, Scripting & Automation (Power shell), Intune etc.
. Experience in Windows server management and troubleshooting
. Translate business needs into EUC solutions and service offerings, including documentation of SLAs and operating procedures.
. Partner with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and collaboration teams to ensure integrated service delivery.
. Provide tier‑3/SME support for complex endpoint issues and major incidents.
. Drive problem, change, and release management for EUC platforms (e.g., OS upgrades, application deployments, security agents).
. Define and monitor compliance, availability, performance, incident volumes) and lead improvements.
. Establish Windows patch management operational KPIs (strategies & guidelines in partnership with stakeholders.
. Ensure patching, antivirus/EDR, disk encryption, and configuration baselines meet cybersecurity standards.
. Govern hardware and OS lifecycle (device refresh, OS version support, end‑of‑life plans).
. Partner with cybersecurity and audit teams to address compliance gaps, exceptions, and remediation plans.
. Identify opportunities to automate deployments, configurations, reporting, and repeatable support tasks (e.g., using PowerShell, Intune, ConfigMgr, APIs).
. Lead proof‑of‑concepts and pilots for new EUC capabilities scale successful solutions globally.
. Maintain and improve knowledge base, runbooks, and end‑user self‑service capabilities.
. Collaborate with vendors and partners on solution design, escalations, and license optimization.
. Provide technical coaching to EUC engineers and support teams contribute to hiring and capability building.
. Provide guidelines & improvements for existing OSD Imaging process & define future roadmap for the same.
. Responsible for researching and streamlining automate deployment, provisioning, policy management, application packaging, deployments, and updates.
. Provide Technical and Operational Governance across the End User Computing environment.
. Work with other technology groups to streamline effective processes and drive continuous improvement for infrastructure, services, and support.
. Resolution ownership of technical challenges for SCCM, OSD Imaging, Intune and Application Packaging projects.
. Create and maintain project related documentation (Business Requirement, Statement of Work, Proof of concept, technical design etc.)
. Review of incidents and root cause analysis, ensure appropriate documentation is in place and updated with latest version.
. Participates in compliance and security reviews as necessary including working closely with internal teams to build security, reliability, and scalability
. Identifying new process improvements & automation opportunities, requirement gathering from stakeholders
. Retention policies, data governance reports and dashboards, Information holds, import data in the Security and Compliance Center, manage inactive mailboxes
. Working experience in agile methodology, scrum to drive & deliver the projects in sprints, documentation of work or process & compliance
