Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Director with strong BFSI domain expertise and a solid foundation in Java backend development. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of overall experience, with a career progression from Java backend developer to technical leadership roles, and will be responsible for driving technology strategy, architecture, and delivery across critical financial services initiatives. This role requires a mix of hands-on technical depth, domain knowledge, and leadership capability to guide teams and influence business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for BFSI platforms.
- Lead the design, development, and modernization of secure, scalable, and high-performance financial applications.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of enterprise solutions across banking, financial services, insurance, payments, lending, or capital markets.
- Collaborate with business, product, operations, risk, and compliance teams to align technology with business objectives.
- Guide engineering teams on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, cloud, DevOps, and integration practices.
- Review architecture and technical design decisions, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance requirements in BFSI environments.
- Mentor developers and technical leads, building strong engineering capability and succession pipelines.
- Drive performance optimization, production stability, automation, and continuous improvement.
Required Experience:
- 15+ years of total experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
- Strong hands-on background in Java backend development, including Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration.
- Proven BFSI domain experience in banking, financial services, insurance, payments, lending, or related financial platforms.
- Experience leading large-scale technical programs, architecture, or multi-team delivery.
- Strong understanding of cloud, CI/CD, DevOps, security, scalability, and resilience.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and influence technical and business decisions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital transformation, core banking, payment systems, or financial product platforms.
- Exposure to containers, Kubernetes, messaging systems, caching, and distributed systems.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing engineering governance, technical standards, and delivery excellence.
