We are looking for a Product Design Engineer who can combine creativity with technical expertise to design innovative products for residential, commercial, and architectural applications.
Role Overview
As a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for turning design briefs into market-ready product designs from ideation to prototyping and testing. You'll work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing teams to create products that are aesthetically appealing, structurally sound, and user-centric.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze new product opportunities based on customer needs and market trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing) to define product requirements and design goals.
- Create 2D and 3D concept drawings, technical schematics, and renderings using tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar.
- Design and iterate on prototypes, ensuring fit, form, and function.
- Research sustainable materials, new technologies, and production techniques
suitable for UPVC and related components.
- Conduct usability tests and gather real-world feedback to improve product designs.
- Work with production teams to translate designs into manufacturable products, optimizing for cost, efficiency, and scalability.
- Continuously enhance the design of existing product lines based on market
feedback and usage data.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain proper documentation for all design processes and revisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education Details
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering,
Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Experience
25 years of hands-on experience in product or industrial design,
preferably in construction materials, hardware, or consumer durables.
Design Tools
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and familiarity
with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Rhino.
Skills
Strong sense of aesthetics, color, geometry, and form; good grasp of
material selection, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.
Soft Skills
Excellent time management, adaptability, collaboration, and
problem-solving abilities.
Bonus
Exposure to UPVC, aluminum, fenestration systems, or other sustainable
materials in product design is a plus.
