Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead with strong expertise in Azure Data Engineering to lead the successful delivery of cloud-based data solutions. The role requires a blend of hands-on technical depth, delivery ownership, stakeholder management, and team leadership to ensure high-quality, scalable, and on-time project execution.
Experience Required
- 8+ years of experience in Cloud Data Engineering
- Minimum 3+ years in a Technical Lead / Delivery Lead role
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead end-to-end delivery of Azure-based data engineering projects
- Architect, design, and implement scalable cloud data solutions using Azure services
- Drive development of modern ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and Snowflake
- Ensure adherence to delivery timelines, quality standards, and best practices
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and delivery tracking in Agile/Scrum environments
- Oversee CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation for data engineering workloads
- Ensure data security, governance, compliance, and performance optimization
- Mentor and guide data engineering teams to achieve technical excellence
- Proactively identify delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud data services (Mandatory)
- Proven expertise in Azure Databricks and Snowflake
- Extensive experience building modern ETL/ELT pipelines
- Strong proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
- Solid experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Proven track record of successful cloud project delivery
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and lake house architecture
- Exposure to cloud cost optimization and performance tuning
- Experience working with enterprise stakeholders and cross-functional teams
