Responsibilities

Technical Content Professional: Interpret research insights and build an understanding of the subject matter.

Translating Information into Compelling Visuals: Translate information into visual forms that make it compelling, easier to understand, and actionable.

Unified Visual Experiences: Design visual experiences that unify user and market insights while adhering to IBM's brand/design language.

Collaboration in Agile Environment: Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams of product managers, engineers, and designers in an agile environment to define strategies.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Technical Content Professional, you will employ design thinking principles to present technical content that enables clients to digitally self-serve and succeed with our offerings. You will apply a range of skills, including UI writing, technical writing and editing, information architecture, and visual design, to create clear and compelling content. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Design and Develop Content: Organize and amplify information into clear and compelling content using design thinking principles, UI writing, technical writing and editing, information architecture, and visual design skills.
  • Shape Client Experience: Determine how and where technical content surfaces throughout the digital journey to ensure clients can quickly find the information they need.
  • Apply Multiple Skills: Utilize a combination of skills, including video production, instructional design, digital learning, AI technology, and social media, to create engaging and effective content.
  • Deliver High-Quality Content: Ensure content is accurate, concise, and easy to understand, and meets the needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate on Solutions: Work with others to deliver solutions that meet client needs and enhance their overall experience.

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • 7-12 years experience developing customer-facing technical documentation in English language.
  • Strong English language communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong user-level knowledge of writing tools and methodologies like DITA or any other markup language.
  • Foundational understanding of UX design and research.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Expertise in producing multiple outputs from and coding in DITA/SGML/HTML/XML
  • Experience and familiarity with Topic writing styles and approaches
  • Experience with content management databases
  • Experience in creating diagrams and graphics

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Master's Degree in writing, English, communication, information design, user experience, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Experience Manager
  • Proficient editorial competence, with the ability to follow and apply the IBM Style guidelines where appropriate
  • Excellent teaming skills for collaboration across multiple development teams
  • Strong analytical problem determination/solving skills
  • Experience writing content for complex systems.
