Technical Consultant Polymer Compounds & Applications

We are seeking an experienced polymer industry professional to provide technical support during initial customer consultations with plastics processors and manufacturers in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in virtual technical consultations with prospective U.S. customers alongside the client.
• Lead or support technical discussions to understand customer applications, existing materials, processing methods, performance requirements, and material-related challenges.
• Ask relevant technical questions to identify application requirements, processing constraints, and opportunities for material optimization.
• Provide preliminary technical guidance on polymer selection, material properties, compound formulations, and processing considerations.
• Discuss potential material alternatives, including existing grades, modified formulations, and application-specific compounds.
• Support discussions involving engineering thermoplastics such as PP, PE, PA6, PA66, PBT, ABS, PC, PC/ABS, and thermoplastic elastomers.
• Address preliminary technical questions related to glass-filled and mineral-filled compounds, flame-retardant formulations, impact modification, color masterbatches, and functional additives.
• Help translate customer discussions into clear technical requirement summaries for subsequent material sourcing and supplier evaluation.
• Identify additional technical information, testing requirements, or qualification considerations necessary to evaluate potential material solutions.
• Assist with reviewing supplier technical datasheets and proposed material specifications when required.
• Provide concise meeting summaries, technical observations, and recommended follow-up actions.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of engineering thermoplastics, polymer compounding, material properties, additives, and plastics processing.
• Experience in material selection, injection molding, application development, and troubleshooting polymer-related issues.
• Ability to understand customer requirements, interpret technical datasheets, evaluate materials, and recommend suitable solutions.
• Excellent spoken English, clear pronunciation, and confidence in conducting technical consultations with U.S.-based customers.
• Preferably 8–15+ years of relevant industry experience; must be based in India and available during U.S. business hours.
