About the Role - Full Time
We're looking for a Technical Career Advisor who can guide working professionals looking to transition into Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI/GenAI roles. This is a consultative role where you'll speak with candidates on scheduled calls, understand their background and goals, and recommend a clear, realistic learning roadmap.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the full AI/ML and Data Science landscape and can explain it simply, confidently, and honestly.
What You'll Do
- Take pre-booked calls (via Calendly or similar) and provide career counseling + technical guidance.
- Understand the candidate's profile (experience, skills, constraints, target role) and recommend:
- best-fit AI role path (AI Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, GenAI Engineer, etc.)
- skill gaps and a structured learning plan
- portfolio/project strategy (what projects to build and why)
- interview prep roadmap (what to focus on, expected depth)
- Explain core concepts at a high level when needed:
- ML vs DL vs GenAI, where each fits
- data pipelines, model lifecycle, evaluation, deployment basics
- tooling choices (Python stack, SQL, cloud basics)
- Handle typical candidate questions clearly:
- time required, difficulty level, prerequisites
- role expectations and realistic outcomes based on their background
- Maintain clean tracking notes: call summary, candidate stage, next steps, follow-ups (CRM/Sheet).
- Coordinate with internal teams (mentors, operations, admissions) to ensure a smooth candidate journey.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Basic of Python, SQL, Statistics
- Basic of Machine Learning fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised, evaluation, overfitting, feature engineering)
- Deep Learning basics (CNN/RNN/Transformers at a conceptual level)
- Generative AI basics (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG vs fine-tuning, evaluation basics)
- Ability to explain technical topics in simple English to non-experts.
- Strong communication, listening, and consultative selling skills (helping candidates make the right decision).
- Comfortable speaking with working professionals on phone/video calls
