Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Technical Business Development Executive (BDE) to drive sales growth, expand our market presence, and manage key client relationships within the wood coatings and paints sector. The BDE will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Penetration & Sales Growth:
- Influencer Engagement: Proactively engage, train, and build strong, long-term relationships with Architects, Interior Designers, and PMC (Project Management Consultants) to get our wood polishes and auxiliaries specified in their project BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
- Project Site Conversion: Identify and track new commercial and residential project sites (furniture, modular units) in the assigned territory. Conduct site inspections, prepare customized technical proposals (including sampling), and successfully negotiate and convert these projects into confirmed orders.
- Loyalty Programs: Drive the registration and engagement of painters, polish contractors, and applicators in company loyalty/benefit programs to build a dedicated application base.
- Competition Analysis: Conduct detailed market and product analysis, tracking competitor activities, pricing, and product positioning, particularly for premium/specialty wood finishes (e.g., PU, Melamine, Water-based).
Client Relationship Management:
- Dealer/Channel Sales: Manage, support, and grow the business volume through the existing network of Paint Dealers and Distributors. Ensure high visibility and stocking of core products.
- Key Account Management (OEMs): Develop and manage key relationships with large Furniture Manufacturers/OEMs to establish repeat business for industrial application of our coatings.
- Payment Reconciliation: Ensure timely collection of payments and reconcile dealer/project accounts at regular intervals to maintain smooth financial operations.
Technical Sales & Presentation:
- Product Training: Conduct technical workshops and product application demonstrations for contractors and key clients to ensure correct product usage, minimize complaints, and highlight product differentiation.
- Complaint Resolution: Handle and escalate technical customer complaints promptly, often requiring site visits with technicians for swift, quality closure.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new product innovations in the wood coatings market.
Reporting & Administration:
- CRM & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all sales activities, project leads, influencer meetings, and sales forecasts using the designated CRM/reporting tool.
- Goal Achievement: Meet and exceed assigned monthly and quarterly targets (value, volume, and new product introduction targets).
Qualifications and SkillsRequired:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven 2-4 years of experience in B2B sales or business development, preferably in the paint, coatings, chemicals, building materials, or related industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of wood coatings, polishes, and their application is a strong advantage.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Must be a self-starter with a strong drive for results.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the Mumbai region and potentially other assigned territories.
Preferred:
- Prior experience selling to architects, interior designers, or furniture manufacturers.
- Technical understanding of wood substrates and different coating systems (e.g., PU, Melamine, NC, Water-based).
