Role Description

The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for defining, analyzing, and documenting the technical requirements for our Supply Chain and Order Management ecosystems. You will translate complex business needs—such as omni-channel fulfillment and global inventory visibility—into detailed technical specifications, including API mappings, data flow diagrams, and system configurations.

Key Responsibilities

7+ years of experience.

  • Requirement Elaboration: Lead discovery sessions with business users to capture requirements for order orchestration, inventory segmentation, and fulfillment strategies.
  • Technical Documentation: Create detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and System Design Specifications (SDS), including sequence diagrams and mapping documents (Source-to-Target).
  • API & Integration Mapping: Define and document XML/JSON payloads for integrations between the OMS, e-commerce platforms, WMS, and ERP systems.
  • Inventory Strategy: Analyze and configure inventory rules, including safety stock logic, ATP (Available to Promise) calculations, and node-level distribution rules.
  • Solution Validation: Work closely with the QE team to ensure test cases align with technical requirements and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate business value.
  • Data Analysis: Perform SQL queries to analyze order patterns, inventory discrepancies, and system performance to recommend process improvements.

Core Qualifications

  • Strong experience in order management, order orchestration, and inventory management systems (OMS preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead requirements discovery sessions with business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong experience in creating Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and System Design Specifications (SDS)
  • Expertise in documenting end-to-end system flows, including sequence diagrams, process flows, and Source-to-Target mappings
  • Strong understanding of API integration design, including XML/JSON payload definition and data mapping

Hands-on experience with inventory management concepts, including:

  • ATP (Available to Promise)
  • Safety stock rules
  • Node-level allocation and distribution strategies

  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting across large datasets
  • Experience working with cross-system integrations involving OMS, e-commerce platforms, WMS, and ERP systems
  • Ability to collaborate closely with QA/QE teams for test case validation and UAT support
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with experience working in Agile environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Order Management Systems (e.g., IBM Sterling OMS or equivalent platforms)
  • Exposure to retail or omnichannel commerce systems
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed system architecture
  • Experience working with integration tools or middleware (Kafka, MQ, ESB)
  • Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools (optional)
