About this opportunity:
The RF Performance Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing LTE and 5G NR radio access network performance. The role involves advanced troubleshooting, KPI improvement, and customer experience / Complaints optimization through data-driven analysis and feature implementation.
What you will do:
- Perform end-to-end radio network performance management for LTE and 5G NR layers, ensuring stability, accessibility, mobility, and quality KPIs meet defined targets.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews using OSS/KPI dashboards and automated performance management tools.
- Identify and troubleshoot cell- or cluster-level degradations such as high interference, poor RSSI/RSRP, RRC setup failures, or call drops.
- Optimize mobility procedures (CSFB, SRVCC, VoLTE handovers, ENDC mobility) and inter-RAT performance between 2G/3G/4G/5G.
- Layer 3 analysis, and post-processing tools to validate field performance and optimization outcomes.
- Evaluate and activate new RAN features (carrier aggregation, VoNR) in collaboration with vendor teams (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, ZTE).
- Collaborate with Core, Transmission, and Planning teams to address multi-domain issues impacting radio KPIs.
- Prepare technical presentations and RCA reports for high-impact outages or KPI degradations.
- Support automation initiatives using AI/ML or scripting (Python, SQL, or Foresight/ENM-based tools) for proactive performance monitoring.
The skills you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related engineering field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in RF optimization or performance engineering of LTE/NR networks.
- Vendor experience (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or ZTE) preferred.
- Familiarity with VoLTE/VoNR call flows, interference management, and spectrum planning.
- Knowledge of 3GPP standards and parameter-level understanding of mobility and RACH procedures.
