Your Role

As a Technical Authoring Engineer, you will be responsible for researching and analyzing engineering data, developing repair and maintenance procedures, and creating technical documentation for automotive aftersales and workshop operations. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate, standardized, and high-quality repair information is available across systems and platforms.

In this role, you will:

• Research and analyze engineering data, including 3D CAD models and vehicle system information.
• Develop digital repair and maintenance methods for automotive components and systems.
• Evaluate and develop repair concepts through Engineering Change (EC) processes and Work-Step Tables (AST).
• Create, update, and maintain repair documentation within enterprise databases and documentation systems.
• Derive and validate standard repair times using MTM-Systematic methodologies for workshop operations.
• Develop a thorough understanding of Mercedes-Benz vehicle platforms, carlines, engine variants, and powertrain systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, aftersales, service, and product teams to obtain updates and implement changes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within technical authoring and aftersales documentation processes.
• Research and analyze Daimler aftersales work value (AW) systems and related maintenance standards.
• Support planning and implementation of AW systems for new vehicle models using Daimler repair and aftersales tools.

Your Profile

• Experience in technical authoring, workshop operations, automotive aftersales, technical documentation, simulation, or maintenance engineering.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and vehicle functionality.
• Hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of Powertrain Systems and Vehicle Integration concepts.
• Experience working with NX CAD and 3D CAD data analysis.
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes and systems.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools and workflows.
• Understanding of workshop and aftersales processes, including technician requirements and service operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• Knowledge of computer programming and German language will be an added advantage.
