Position Title: Mobile Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced
Mobile Architect to lead the architecture, design, and technical direction of our
Android and iOS mobile applications in the
tire industry. The Mobile Architect will define best practices, ensure platform scalability, and oversee the evolution of mobile solutions that support tire selection, ordering, inventory visibility, service workflows, and connected mobility experiences.
This role requires deep expertise in mobile app architecture, integration patterns, performance optimization, security, and cross-platform scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Define the end-to-end architecture for Android and iOS mobile applications, including native, hybrid, or cross-platform approaches as appropriate.
- Establish architectural standards, frameworks, and reusable components aligned with industry best practices.
- Ensure mobile solutions are scalable, performant, resilient, and secure.
Industry-Specific Mobile Solutions
- Architect mobile experiences for tire industry use cases:
- Tire search (size, pattern, category, vehicle-based lookup)
- Dealer B2B ordering platforms
- Inventory and warehouse visibility
- Seasonal high-load workflows (e.g., winter tire demand spikes)
- Integrate mobile apps with ERP, OMS, CRM, and supply chain systems commonly used in the tire sector.
Technical Strategy & Roadmap
- Define mobile technology roadmap covering OS updates, device fragmentation, API evolution, and performance optimization.
- Provide guidance on microservices, API design, caching, offline-first workflows, and push notification strategy.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, DevOps, and QA teams.
- Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, and solution walkthroughs.
- Mentor engineering teams and enforce mobile development best practices.
Integration & Backend Coordination
- Collaborate with backend/API teams to define efficient, secure, and scalable API contracts.
- Evaluate and implement mobile backend solutions (MBaaS, GraphQL layers, caching, etc.).
Performance, Security & Quality
- Define standards for app performance, battery usage, network usage, and load handling.
- Oversee implementation of mobile security best practices (OWASP MAS, secure storage, certificate pinning, encryption).
- Ensure accessibility, usability, and WCAG 2.1 AA compliance where applicable.
- Promote CI/CD automation, unit testing, UI testing, and monitoring.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in mobile development with at least 4+ years as a Mobile Architect or Lead.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Android (Kotlin/Java, Jetpack, Compose)
- iOS (Swift/Objective-C, SwiftUI, UIKit)
- Experience with cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of:
- Mobile design patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, VIPER)
- REST, GraphQL, WebSockets
- Mobile CI/CD (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Cloud services (GCP, Firebase)
- APM tools (Firebase Performance, Dynatrace)
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead and influence across engineering, business, and design teams.
- Analytical, innovative, and user-centric mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the tire, automotive, or mobility industry.
- Understanding of inventory workflows, and tire product data.
- Knowledge of security frameworks like MASVS/MSTG.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
- Mobile architecture or cloud certifications (optional but beneficial).
