Technical Architect

We are hiring an Engineering Lead/ Architect with 8+ years of experience to own a critical product domain including Checkout, Payments, or Merchant Experience - with direct impact on merchant revenue, conversion, and platform reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture, delivery, reliability, and business impact. This includes areas such as merchant dashboards and tools, checkout fl ows, payment processing, and subscriptions.

Set technical direction that ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.

Lead in an AI-native environment including standards for agent workflows, tool usage, and code quality.

Guide a team of engineers through technical direction, code reviews, and professional development.

Partner with product and design to translate goals into execution plans.

Establish coding standards, testing practices, and observability for your team's services; contribute to on-call in rotation.

Participate in technical discussions that impact the broader platform, and incorporate feedback from customer success and support.

Identify and resolve technical debt, improve system performance, and contribute to hiring.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience owning complex systems and leading engineering teams.

Demonstrated fluency using AI coding agents to critically review, validate, and improve AI-generated code.

Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across distributed engineering, product, and design teams.

Strong proficiency in modern web technologies (TypeScript, React, Node.js, NestJS, or similar) and solid understanding of database design, API development, and system integration patterns.

Experience with distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native technologies (AWS or GCP), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), including the ability to debug and resolve complex performance issues across distributed services.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies and best practices (CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews).

Nice to have

Knowledge of ecommerce systems, payment processing, or merchant-facing applications.

Experience leading development of AI/ML systems.
