Job Title: Technical Architect Salesforce Communications Cloud & Order Management

Experience: 812 Years

Location: Remote / India (Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Vijayawada preferred)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Summary

We are looking for an accomplished Salesforce Technical Architect specializing in Salesforce Communications Cloud (formerly Vlocity) and Order Management (OM) to lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of complex order management and revenue lifecycle solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring deep telecom or communications domain expertise and own the architecture governance, product catalog modeling, integration strategy, and roadmap for OM, CPQ, and Revenue Cloud solutions.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and technical teams to transform quote-to-cash, order orchestration, and fulfillment processes for Communications Service Providers (CSPs) or subscription-based enterprises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect & Design Leadership:
  • Lead the end-to-end architecture for Order Management (OM) within Salesforce Communications Cloud, including order capture, decomposition, orchestration, fulfillment, cancellations/returns, and event posting into revenue/billing systems.
  • Product & Catalog Modeling:
  • Define and implement best practices for Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC), pricing, offer modeling, subscription lifecycle, and guided selling processes.
  • Integration Strategy:
  • Design and oversee the integration of Salesforce OM with external systems such as BSS/OSS, provisioning, billing, and inventory systems through APIs, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
  • Governance & Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews, ensure adherence to technical standards, monitor system scalability and performance, and guide development teams on configuration and coding best practices.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with solution architects, DevOps, data/integration teams, and project managers to ensure alignment and seamless delivery across multiple domains.
  • Client & Business Engagement:
  • Translate complex telecom and communication business needs into scalable technical architectures supporting B2B/B2C order volumes, multi-play services, and bundled product offerings.
  • Continuous Improvement & Enablement:
  • Stay updated with Salesforce product enhancements, roadmap, and emerging technologies across Communications Cloud, CPQ, Revenue Cloud, and Order Management.
  • Mentorship & Leadership:
  • Mentor delivery teams in Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) components such as OmniStudio (OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, FlexCards) and best practices for scalable solution design.
  • Operational Oversight:
  • Oversee large data volume scenarios, ensure high-performance architecture for large-scale order volumes, error handling, resilience, and system scalability.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 812 years of overall Salesforce experience with at least 35 years focused on telecom/communications/subscription domains using Salesforce Communications Cloud (Vlocity).
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering large-scale Order Management solutions for Communications, Media, or Telecom clients.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce Industries Order Management (OM) order decomposition, orchestration, fulfillment, and event posting.
  • Strong knowledge of CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and Enterprise Product Catalog (EPC) including offers, bundles, attributes, pricing, and promotions.
  • Hands-on experience with OmniStudio components (OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, FlexCards) and Salesforce native tools (Apex, LWC, Flows).
  • Excellent integration knowledge using REST/SOAP APIs, platform events, message queues, and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience working in high data volume (LDV) environments with complex order and product hierarchies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client engagement skills with a focus on governance, scalability, and innovation.
Good to Have
  • Salesforce Communications Cloud, Order Management, CPQ, or OmniStudio certifications.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and Salesforce deployment frameworks.
  • Exposure to Revenue Cloud, Billing, or Subscription Management solutions.
