Position Technical Architect (Node.js)

About The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled MERN Stack Technical Architect to lead the design, development, and scalability of our next-generation software platforms.
The role requires deep expertise in MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js, with strong architectural thinking and the ability to guide multiple engineering teams toward building robust, scalable, and high-performance systems.
You will work closely with product, design, and engineering leadership to define the technical roadmap, drive architectural decisions, and mentor teams to deliver high-quality software. A background in product-based companies or SaaS is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Own end-to-end architecture across multiple MERN-based applications.
- Design scalable, distributed systems using best practices in microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native patterns.
- Define technical standards, code quality guidelines, and architectural blueprints.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor 45 cross-functional engineering teams, enabling them to build high-quality, maintainable applications.
- Provide technical oversight for backend (Node.js/Express), frontend (React.js), and database (MongoDB) components.
Execution & Delivery
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment of requirements, architecture, and implementation.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, deployment pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Cross-Stack Collaboration
- Provide strategic input for projects that integrate with or extend the MERN ecosystem.
- Work across technologies such as TypeScript, React Native, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ) when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 5 years working deeply with the MERN stack.
- Strong expertise in:
- React.js (architecture, state management, performance optimization)
- Node.js + Express.js (API design, microservices, distributed systems)
- MongoDB (schema design, indexing, aggregation, performance tuning)
- Proven experience designing large-scale systems with high availability and low latency.
- Strong command of system design, API design, and architectural patterns.
- Experience building and leading agile engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in SaaS or product-based companies.
- Working knowledge of:
- Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Messaging queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ)
- Candidates with deep technical acumen but limited formal management experience will also be considered.
