Technical Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a Platform Backend Architect, you will be the technical anchor responsible for designing, scaling, and evolving our core backend infrastructure and microservices ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between high-level product strategy and execution, driving architectural governance, performance optimization, and system resilience. You will collaborate closely with engineering leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to build enterprise-grade platforms capable of handling massive data throughput with low latency.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Own the end-to-end High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for core backend platforms, distributed services, and data pipelines.
• Scalability & Performance: Design and optimize multi-tenant, cloud-native architectures capable of handling high-concurrency, petabyte-scale financial transactions with strict SLAs.
• System Evolution: Lead the strategic refactoring, modernization, and scaling of core backend systems, ensuring seamless coexistence and transition between monolithic modules and microservices.
• Technology Standards: Set engineering guardrails, design patterns, and coding standards. Champion clean code principles, SOLID design, and robust OOPS paradigms.
• Data & Storage Architecture: Oversee complex relational and non-relational database schemas, high-throughput caching strategies, and data partitioning frameworks.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Mentor high-performing engineering teams, review critical pull requests, conduct architecture review boards (ARBs), and align technical roadmaps with business deliverables.
• Security & Reliability: Ensure fault tolerance, disaster recovery readiness, zero-trust security compliance, and high availability across all backend tiers.

Required Skills

• Experience: 12+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4–5 years acting in an enterprise Lead role scaling SaaS platforms.
• Core Stack: Mastery of Java / J2EE, Spring Boot, and modern backend frameworks. Deep proficiency in multi-threading, concurrency, and memory management.
• Distributed Systems: Proven expertise in designing distributed microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, gRPC, and event-driven messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Database & Caching: Advanced expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.), query optimization, indexing, and handling large data volumes.
• Cloud & DevOps Ecosystem: Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker), orchestration tools (Kubernetes) and CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins).
• Design Acumen: Exceptional capability in producing detailed architectural documentation (HLD/LLD) and threat modeling.
