Technical Advisor - Instrumentation/Controls

Under broad direction, the Technical Advisor functions as a technical specialist and recognized authority in instrumentation and controls. The role provides high-level advisory and consulting services, makes authoritative recommendations, and influences engineering decisions across extensive projects. Responsibilities include negotiating critical issues with senior engineers and stakeholders, and contributing directly to value creation for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a recognized authority in instrumentation and control systems engineering, providing expert advice and guidance.
• Make decisions and recommendations with far-reaching impact on engineering activities and project outcomes.
• Negotiate critical and controversial technical issues with top-level engineers, management, and external organizations.
• Perform advisory and consulting work for broad program areas or specialized technical domains.
• Support the organization in achieving technical excellence, compliance with codes and standards, and effective engineering solutions.
• Contribute directly to value creation through innovative solutions, risk mitigation, and technical optimization.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related field).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with an average of 15+ years in instrumentation and controls or related engineering roles.
• Recognized authority in technical decision-making, advisory, and consulting roles.
