Role: Technical Accounting Director

Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant/CPA with minimum of 12+ years of technical accounting experience.
- Understanding of audit services with mediocre to in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience (Intermediate to advanced level) with mostly all of following GAAP standards preferred:
- ASC 810, 815, 718, 323, 325, 470, 480, 860, 805, 606 preferred.
- IFRS 3, 9, 10, 15 IAS 28, 32.
- Experience in leading projects in areas such as complex financial instruments, stock-based compensation, debt, consolidation etc.
- Lead the review of technical memos and other disclosures on engagements.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and client management skills
- Strong business development and marketing skills.
Essential:
- Review of complex accounting memos and workbooks including VIE analysis, debt modification, stock-based compensation etc.
- Business combination (ASC-805) which includes recognise and measure assets acquired, liabilities assumed and non-controlling interest, goodwill or gain from bargain purchase and other accounting matters related to business combination
- Review and Perform audit readiness support for complex accounting matters and provide services to U.S. based public clients.
- Review Financial Statements including disclosure checklists, SEC disclosure checklists for registration statements, drafts of sections of various SEC filings (e.g., MDA draft, etc)
- Candidates having prior experience working in a capability centre delivery model for US clients are preferred.
- Team player; self-driven and ability to work independently as well as able to motivate team members
Qualitative demeanor:
- Open to stretching on working hours in periods of peak capital markets and merger & acquisition activity.
- Building relationships with the onshore teams in order to drive hours offshore
- Working directly with the onshore engagement team on a daily basis to deliver work to onshore clients
- Develop and lead a team of experts in accounting advisory across levels and ensure the team delivers high–quality work, on time and to budget
- Taking an active role in developing the skill sets and competencies of the team
- Acting as a performance manager for the junior team member and being involved in their career development
- Identify development opportunities and training needs for high performing team.
Desirable:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of complex accounting concepts.
- Extensive hands-on experience in leading with large and small projects related to:
- Complex financial instruments, including debt, equity, and hybrid instruments.
- Consolidation and variable interest entity (VIE) assessments
- Securitization and investment company assessments
- Stock-based compensation
- Earnings per share (EPS) calculations and analysis
- Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL)
- Financial Statements and disclosures.
- Business combinations and acquisition accounting
- Revenue recognition
- Lease accounting
