Job Description:-
Key Responsibilities
- VMware Administration
Manage and support VMware vSphere environments.
Administer VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, clusters, resource pools, and datastores.
Configure and maintain:
High Availability (HA)
Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS)
vMotion and Storage vMotion
Distributed Virtual Switches (vDS)
VMware Lifecycle Manager (vLCM)
Perform VMware upgrades, patching, and migrations.
Troubleshoot performance, storage, networking, and virtualization issues. Capacity planning and resource optimization.
Implement and maintain VMware disaster recovery solutions.
Support VMware Horizon VDI environments
- Windows Server Administration
Manage Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.
Install, configure, and maintain:
Active Directory
DNS
DHCP
Group Policy
DFS
File and Print Services
Perform Windows Server patching and lifecycle management.
Manage certificate services and PKI infrastructure.
Troubleshoot authentication and domain-related issues.
Implement server hardening and security best practices.
Perform server migrations and upgrades.
- Infrastructure & Storage
- Support SAN and NAS storage platforms.
- Manage storage provisioning and datastore administration.
- Troubleshoot multipathing and storage connectivity issues.
- Test and validate disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitoring & Performance
- Monitor infrastructure health and performance.
- Analyse logs and system events.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.
- Create and maintain performance baselines.
- Implement proactive monitoring solutions.
- Automation & Scripting
- Develop automation using:
- PowerShell
- PowerCLI
- Python (preferred)
- Automate routine administration tasks.
- Create scripts for reporting and health checks.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement security standards and hardening policies.
- Manage vulnerability remediation.
- Support audits and compliance requirements.
- Maintain least-privilege access controls.
- Review security advisories and implement mitigations.
- Incident & Problem Management
- Act as Level 3 escalation point.
- Lead troubleshooting during critical outages.
- Participate in major incident bridges.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports.
- Develop permanent fixes for recurring issues.
- Documentation
- Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
- Create architecture diagrams.
- Develop operational runbooks.
- Document troubleshooting procedures.
