Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Tech Lead role based in Gurugram. The Tech Lead will guide a cross-functional development team, provide hands-on technical direction, and ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable applications that support core insurance and customer-facing platforms. Responsibilities include designing and reviewing system architecture, leading code reviews, enforcing engineering best practices, and coordinating with product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality technical solutions. The Tech Lead will mentor engineers, support their skill development, and help establish development standards, tooling, and processes that improve reliability and efficiency. The role also involves monitoring production systems, driving incident resolution, and proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and modernization.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in software development and technical leadership, with strong skills in at least one modern programming language (such as Java, C#, or similar) and related frameworks.
- Solid understanding of system and solution architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and high-availability applications, APIs, and integrations.
- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and infrastructure automation tools commonly used in modern application development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coach engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical designs.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to work closely with product, business, and operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services domain, especially life insurance, is preferred but not mandatory.
