Job Purpose

This role acts an interface between Business/Operations and Technology vendors to drive the resolutions on new products, defects and change request or new functionality, help business/Operations implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners: Business case, CBA, requirement gathering, assistance in UAT, implementation, Project Management

About the Health Insurance Industry –

While the current market sees more than 15 non-life players in the private space and 5 exclusive private players in the health insurance space trying to capture a sizable market share, the nationalised service provider (6) remains a strong competitor. In addition to this the business dynamics are such that the overall market on an annual basis which is to the tune of roughly 10,000 Crs sees close to 85 % of the business renewing with the existing service provider itself. This narrows down the opportunity of the fresh business actually being seriously fought in the market to approximately 1500 odd Crs. With the SME and the start-ups being the driving force of Indian economy, the opportunity to cater to these segments is immense and is increasing manifold year on year. The challenge here therefore remains as to how we capture a larger share of the opportunity by developing specific solutions to cater each segment of the business. Also by creating an inexpensive and standardized solution to increase the reach into the pockets of channel partners across the country to harness on their captive business and explore new opportunities with them.

Opportunities – With the advent of medical advancements, lifestyle changes, change in Indian socio-economic scenario and Indian healthcare space the clients are facing challenges to cater to the needs of diverse workforce. Increasingly Indian clients have started considering group benefits as a lever to manage employee expectations, talent acquisition and retention. In this scenario it becomes extremely important to understand their psyche and then provide tailored solutions which would help them meet their end objectives and bring in profitable revenue source for the company.

Key Challenges for the role

Finding right people with niche skill set in the market and subsequently ensuring that team members are up-to speed in a short time frame and retaining them

Creating a process oriented culture by standardizing processes and documenting the same by way of standard operating procedures

Driving awareness, communication and a strong mechanism to seek buy-ins from key stakeholders to adhere to standard operating procedures and support outsourcing, process re-engineering and automation initiatives

Keeping pace with the dynamic and sweeping nature of changing economic and regulatory environment without compromising on quality of service delivery despite limited resources.

Strategizing, creating and driving a strong controlled mechanism to outsource and automate despite limited availability and suboptimal nature of vendors and systems.

Building a robust mechanism to ensure consistent delivery of services despite limited resources, geographical reach of vendors, volume fluctuations and a short span of time to course correct any deviation/SLA issues.

KRA1 Helping business implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way Understanding business change needs, assessing the business impact of those changes, capturing, analyzing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders.

  • Requirement gathering from Ops process owners, which clearly state the business needs and align with business processes
  • Preparation of Business Requirement documents and test cases
  • Translating business requirement into product/process/system specification.
  • Liaison with other colleagues in IT to collectively fulfill the system delivery responsibilities on project, that have cross-functional inter-linkages

KRA2 Automation and UAT Implementation of new releases and automation of existing applications

  • Perform UAT and obtaining sign off from stakeholders for movement to Pre-Production and Production environments of relevant systems/applications
