Role Overview:
We are looking for a Team Manager to lead logistics operations for book distribution. The role involves managing teams, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders, and ensuring smooth dispatch and delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Manage and supervise logistics coordinators and operations staff.
- Allocate tasks, monitor team productivity, and ensure operational targets are met.
- Conduct training and performance reviews for team members.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with stakeholders globally, identifying gaps in the requirement.
- Monitor vendor performance based on delivery timelines, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Resolve shipment delays, damages, or logistics escalations.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with publishers, distributors, warehouse teams, and retail partners.
- Ensure smooth communication between scanning teams, warehouse, and logistics teams.
- Provide regular operational updates and reports to management.
- Handle escalations related to delivery timelines or stock movement.
Logistics & Distribution Operations
- Oversee dispatch, transportation planning, and last-mile delivery of books.
- Monitor inventory movement between warehouses, distributors, and retail outlets.
- Ensure accurate documentation for shipments and returns.
- Manage reverse logistics for unsold or damaged books.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain, preferably in books/publishing distribution.
- Strong experience in vendor and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable with night shift and work-from-office environment.
