The Opportunity
As Team Manager for TTL at Grid Integration INOPC, Chennai, you will be responsible for a given team's operations, resource allocation, competence development, and people development. In this role, you will translate global TTL strategies into execution, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, sustainability, and innovation across heavylift and project cargo logistics. You will support the creation of Transport and Logistics (TTL) strategies to ensure optimal results for Grid Integration. You will have between 812 direct reports with a mix of HeavyLift Specialists and Project Cargo Planners. You will partner with internal stakeholders and specialized logistics providers to deliver complex, multimodal transport solutions safely, on time, and on budget, while advancing our decarbonization objectives and developing a highperforming team. The team is responsible for executing projects covering both tactical and strategic deliveries. You will collaborate with various crossfunctional teams, suppliers, and customers. You will work in the global market, with the possibility of many exciting travel opportunities. You will be part of local management and act as a sounding board within the organization. Analysis and risk management will also be among your tasks. In many ways, you will be the person at the centre of things. You will be responsible for ensuring that all key personnel within the project, global TTL, the Grid Integration organization, and the client are aware of any risks and opportunities within TTL. How You'll Make An Impact
- Resource planning (medium to long term) and allocation based on the forecast of tenders and projects, in collaboration with the global organization.
- Lead and develop a team of logistics professionals, ensure proper staffing, capability building, motivation, and performance management, ensure departmental KPIs (e.g., OnTime Delivery, CR, CA, TCI, PBS, productivity). Deliver results against budget and ensure achievement of Transport & Logistics performance KPIs.
- Run routine reviews and followups with project teams, crossfunctional teams, suppliers, and customers, raecruit personnel as per headcount budget and in alignment with HR policies. Be accountable for the team in line with Hitachi Energy Group compliance, Integrity, Health & Safety requirements.
- Oversee the use of transportation and customs/trade software systems for global heavylift planning and scheduling. Select optimal modes and routes to balance cost, risk, CO, and schedule.
- Manage strategic partnerships with heavylift carriers, rigging teams, port authorities, and other external providers. Engage, evaluate, and steer specialized partners (3PLs, forwarders, carriers). Identify bundling opportunities to reduce cost and CO without impacting project plans.
- Ensure adherence to local and global regulations; optimize customs procedures, freetrade benefits, and distribution flows & responsible for personnel assessments and people reviews, including target setting for direct reports. Identify development areas and implement appropriate actions & identify key competence areas and establish succession planning.
- Participate in the unit's strategic work and develop local strategy & Work out future scope expansion and competence development. Lead the development and implementation of improved processes, tools, and systems with high initiative and low supervision. Drive digitalization and automation and maintain accurate master data.
- Convert TTL transformation objectives into clear action plans and deliver against sustainability, operational excellence, and financial targets. Implement costreduction initiatives and guide stakeholders on Incoterms and logistics solutions.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
- You hold an academic degree in a relevant field: BE (Electrical / Mechanical) or an equivalent logistics degree, with 1015 years of solid experience in heavylift, project cargo, or highly specialized transport operations on a global scale, or equivalent supply chain experience.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership experience, including 45 years as a Line Manager or Team Leader, with a strong interest in developing people.
- Proven ability to manage complex logistics operations, including multimodal transport, rigging, lifting, oversized cargo, and port coordination. Strong operational understanding of global trade compliance, customs processes, and specialized transport permitting.
- Demonstrated success in leading people and multiple teams in a matrixed, global environment. Experience with transportation management systems, customs/trade applications, and digital logistics tools.
- Strong commercial acumen, including cost optimization, Incoterms expertise, and supplier performance management. Confident use of SharePoint, Excel, and core Office tools.
- Energetic, motivated, and selfconfident; able to handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur & superior negotiation skills in a multicultural and challenging global business environment.
- Strong intercultural sensitivity, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
