The Opportunity:
As the Team Leader, Value Solutions at ApplyBoard, you will lead a team of Process Advisors in driving the effectiveness of our loan processing strategy and meeting our annual loan revenue targets. You will serve as the primary liaison with banking partners while championing the transformation of the loan application process through the adoption of technology and AI solutions. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and in-depth understanding of financial products will be crucial in enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing loan conversion rates, and delivering exceptional service that aligns with our commitment to supporting student success.
What you'll be doing every day:
- Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Process Advisors to ensure they meet and exceed performance and customer service standards.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages continuous improvement, professional growth, and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills.
- Strategic Development:
- Collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams (including marketing, finance, and product management) to establish a go-to-market strategy for loan operations.
- Conduct thorough competitor analysis to identify trends, strengths, and weaknesses in the market, informing strategy adjustments and product offerings.
- Develop, implement, and refine ApplyBoard's strategy for loan operations to meet and exceed loan revenue targets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Technology Transformation:
- Drive the transformation of the loan application process by adopting cutting-edge technology and implementing AI solutions to automate and streamline operations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements through technology, enhancing efficiency and the overall customer experience throughout the loan application lifecycle.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day loan operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in processing applications and managing customer inquiries.
- Establish metrics and KPIs for loan conversion and revenue targets, regularly monitoring progress and implementing action plans to address any gaps.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout all loan operations.
- Liaison with Banking Partners:
- Act as the primary point of contact for banking partners, maintaining strong relationships to facilitate effective communication and support.
- Collaborate with partners on new product development and enhancements to existing loan offerings.
- Customer Experience Focus:
- Champion exceptional customer service, advocating for student and partner needs, and ensuring a customer-centric culture within the Loan Operations team.
- Gather and analyze feedback from students and partners to continuously enhance the loan application experience and operational processes.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on loan operations performance, conversion rates, revenue generation, and team results to senior management.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within loan operations, using insights to guide decision-making and strategy.
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in loan operations, financial services, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of various types of loan products, especially student loans and educational financing solutions.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Data-driven with strong analytical skills and proficiency in using CRM platforms and loan processing software.
- Familiarity with technology solutions relevant to loan operations, including AI and automation tools, is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing market conditions.
