Job Summary
The Team Leader-(Background Verification) will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end Background Verification (BGV) process for Field Engineers across multiple geographies. This role ensures compliance with country-specific legal and regulatory requirements, manages vendor relationships, optimizes verification costs, and ensures accurate and timely billing of BGV expenses to customers. The role requires strong operational leadership, process governance, and stakeholder management skills.

- BGV Operations Management
- Lead and oversee the global Background Verification (BGV) process for new Field Engineers.
- Ensure timely initiation, tracking, and closure of BGV cases in line with defined SLAs.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
- Handle escalations and resolve complex BGV cases across regions.
- Ensure all BGV processes comply with local labor laws, data privacy regulations, and country-specific norms.
- Stay updated with global compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR and regional employment laws).
- Establish and enforce standardized policies and SOPs across geographies.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Manage relationships with third-party BGV vendors globally.
- Evaluate vendor performance against SLAs, quality, and turnaround time.
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements to optimize BGV costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining service quality.
- Ensure accurate tracking of all BGV-related costs.
- Coordinate with finance and operations teams to ensure timely billing of BGV costs to customers.
- Validate vendor invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
- Provide cost reports, forecasts, and insights to leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HRIS/BGV specialists.
- Set performance goals, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular reviews.
- Provide training on tools, processes, and compliance requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Operations, Finance, Legal) across global locations.
- Act as a point of contact for BGV-related queries and escalations.
- Ensure clear communication with customers regarding BGV status and billing.
- Identify opportunities to improve BGV workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Drive automation initiatives within HRIS systems for tracking and reporting.
- Implement best practices and standardization across regions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of experience in HR operations / HRIS / Background Verification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a team leadership role.
- Experience managing global BGV processes and third-party vendors.
- Strong understanding of international employment laws and compliance.
