1. Pre-Sales (30%)
- 1.1 Conduct customer visits along with Sales/System Integrator teams to perform detailed application study,
- with strong focus on machine vision feasibility, inspection requirements, and automation scope.
- 1.2 Analyze RFQs related to Vision-based applications, ensuring clear understanding of Inspection
- parameters (accuracy, repeatability) Camera, lens, lighting feasibility Cycle time and integration constraints.
- 1.3 Design system architecture including Vision systems, PLC, motion, robotics, and prepare optimized BOM for proposed solutions
- 1.4 Lead and execute Proof of Concept (PoC) for Vision applications, including Image acquisition setup (camera, optics, lighting), Algorithm development & validation, Performance benchmarking.
- 1.5 Submit detailed PoC reports with results, limitations, and recommendations to Sales team for customer presentation
- 1.6 Conduct product demos, trials, and technical presentations to customers showcasing Vision + Automation integrated solutions
- 1.7 Drive weekly reviews with Sales & Application teams to track PoC status and support order closure
2. Project Planning, Execution & Control (30%)
- 2.1 Plan, organize, and monitor execution of automation projects including Vision system integration, ensuring adherence to timelines
- 2.2 Perform resource planning and allocation based on project complexity (Vision, PLC, Robotics, Motion)
- 2.3 Develop and review application programs including: PLC, HMI, Servo, Vision program (inspection tools, logic, communication with PLC.
- 2.4 Ensure proper integration of Vision systems with machine control (triggering, data exchange, result handling)
- 2.5 Monitor installation and commissioning activities, ensuring system performance meets PoC benchmarks
- 2.6 Review customer application drawings and coordinate closely with channel partners for seamless execution
- 2.7 Drive standardization by developing reusable functional blocks, Vision libraries, and templates
- 2.8 Lead engineering process improvements focusing on: Quality of POC & other related Automation work, TAT Improvement etc.
3. Technical Support & Reporting (15%)
- 3.1 Ensure timely technical support for Vision and Automation issues to OEMs, end users, and channel partners
- 3.2 Review and consolidate: PoC documents, Technical notes, Application case studies, Troubleshooting guides.
- 3.3 Conduct training programs and OJT for internal teams, customers, and partners on: Vision programming, Lighting & optics selection, Integration with automation systems
- 3.4 Support marketing initiatives through seminars, roadshows, and technical presentations promoting Vision-led automation solutions.
4. Team Management (25%)
- 4.1 Drive team performance by setting and reviewing KPIs related to: PoC success rate, Project execution timelines, Technical competency (Vision + Automation)
- 4.2 Develop team capability in: Vision programming & troubleshooting, Advanced automation (PLC+ Networking), Application understanding & customer handling
- 4.3 Mentor team members on structured problem solving and application approach for Vision systems
- 4.4 Ensure knowledge sharing within team through regular reviews, technical sessions, and project learnings
- 4.5 Retain high-potential team members through engagement, recognition, and career development planning
