Job Purpose:

Drive the overall strategy to engage and influence policy makers from socio-economic and regulatory perspectives, aligning with organizational objectives across assigned segments. Build and strengthen relationships with key policy stakeholders while working closely with senior leadership on policy advocacy and implementation. Provide strategic direction and insights on policy frameworks and market dynamics to internal stakeholders to enable informed decision-making and drive segment growth

Accountabilities:

• Drive and lead engagement with policy makers and industry bodies on key policy and regulatory matters, including policy advocacy and industry representation, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives

• Lead the team in shaping and enabling the development of appropriate policy frameworks aligned with organisational objectives, including smart meter rollout frameworks (RDSS, prepaid mandates) and vendor models (DBFOOT, TOTEX etc.)

• Drive and engage with central and state government bodies to provide guidance on policy matters, including the implementation of relevant policy frameworks. Develop
• and publish a clear quarterly plan for interactions with states and regulatory authorities

• Develop policy memos and presentations to influence and support policymakers in drafting policies and guidelines impacting all assigned segments and ensure at least one presentation is made to each regulator annually. Work closely with Application and NPD teams to ensure products and solutions are aligned with applicable regulations and standards

• Ensure timely and regular updates on relevant policy and regulatory developments

• Stay informed on regulatory changes impacting all assigned segments, including continuous tracking of developments from CEA, Central and State regulators, and PNGRB (for gas meters). Analyse regulations related to metering standards, smart meters, and communication protocols, and proactively plan actions for smooth change management

• Build and strengthen an effective network with policy makers and key stakeholders to support organisational objectives

• Represent the organisation and actively participate in industry associations and forums to influence policy discussions and outcomes

• Provide strategic guidance to the sales and bid teams on policies and regulations impacting all segments, including identification of regulatory risks to enable informed decision-making

• Drive monthly reviews with segment teams to identify utility pain areas and address them through policy interventions and engagement with relevant authorities
• Develop and mentor the team to build strong policy and stakeholder management capabilities
