Role Overview
The Team Lead – Sales & Business Development will be responsible for driving admissions growth, managing the sales pipeline, and leading a team of Sales Executives to achieve business targets. The role combines hands-on sales responsibilities with team management, coaching, performance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in sales conversion, and the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Executives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skill development programs.
- Monitor daily sales activities, call quality, follow-ups, and conversion metrics.
- Create performance improvement plans and support team members in achieving KPIs.
- Foster a positive, target-driven, and customer-centric sales culture.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize admissions and revenue growth.
- Drive lead-to-enrollment conversion through effective sales processes and best practices.
- Analyze sales performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
- Work closely with senior management on growth initiatives and expansion plans.
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
- Oversee lead allocation and ensure effective management of inbound and outbound leads.
- Monitor lead nurturing activities and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Track sales funnel performance and optimize conversion at each stage.
- Ensure CRM hygiene and accurate maintenance of customer records.
Client Engagement & Sales Conversion
- Handle high-priority prospects and complex admissions consultations.
- Support team members in addressing objections and closing difficult cases.
- Guide parents and students through the enrollment process by understanding academic requirements and recommending suitable tutoring programs.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience throughout the sales journey.
Webinar, Demo & Campaign Management
- Lead webinar planning, execution, and post-event conversion strategies.
- Coordinate with Marketing teams to maximize ROI from campaigns and lead-generation activities.
- Review campaign performance and implement strategies to improve conversion rates.
- Support demo sessions and trial class conversion initiatives.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Academic, Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure seamless onboarding of students.
- Resolve escalations and customer concerns promptly.
- Share customer feedback and market insights to support service improvements.
Reporting & Business Insights
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to management.
- Track team KPIs, conversion rates, admissions figures, and revenue performance.
- Identify trends, challenges, and growth opportunities through data analysis.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

CRM & Sales Operations
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools (Zoho CRM preferred).
- Strong understanding of sales pipeline management and reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace.
Lead Generation & Marketing Awareness
- Good understanding of lead-generation channels and customer acquisition strategies.
- Experience working with marketing campaigns, webinars, and conversion funnels.
- Ability to analyze campaign effectiveness and optimize results.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
- Strong data interpretation and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Sales, Business Development, or Admissions.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
- Experience in EdTech, Education, Training, or Service-Based Industries preferred.
