Role

Work within the Custody Services BLR Team serving the Operations function for a range of Custody clients. Incumbent will be responsible for managing end to end process BAU/ task administration & flawless delivery of process, accountable for proper change management support & process improvement. Continuously develop industry/product knowledge. Ability to understand customer segments and apply different servicing approaches based on customer knowledge level. To continually aim to improve the service offered to clients

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead and organise work
  • Ensure that the team is aligned to overall operations objectives
  • To ensure due oversight and controls over the daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly processes covered by the team.
  • Ensure adequate number of resources are cross-trained across the various streams to ensure seamless process delivery
  • Plan, allocate, assist and review of workload, which is to be achieved by training, motivating and providing a career plan to staff
  • Responsible for delivery of all Client Bespoke reporting accurately and within specified timeframes
  • Responsible for interacting with various business areas to determine automation needs and provide ongoing systems support
  • Play a key role in reviews and checks
  • Assist in preparing and implementing Business Continuity Plans
  • Review and improve on productivity benchmarks on ongoing basis
  • Advise junior staff on resolution of problems
  • Manage the performance of employees within the team
  • Ensure continued training and staff development, monitoring the performance and development and
  • training of individuals within the team
  • Ensure fair allocation of tasks amongst the team. Ensure appropriate cover is arranged when managing absence.
  • To ensure due oversight and controls over the daily processes covered by the team.
  • Interact effectively with home country team in resolving exceptions arising out of daily processing and to improve service delivery of Bangalore team.
  • Manage and maintain Key Performance Indicators for the functional areas under their control
  • Escalate issues to onshore location when appropriate
  • Maintain training matrix for the team.
  • Strong subject matter expertise/ knowledge of NT business (Custody, GFS, Investment Operations, etc.)
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigations
  • Demonstrate through examples/evidence analytical ability, problem solving, day-to-day task management and escalation of issues

Work within a team with a strong willingness to assist others when required, building effective relationships with members of other team

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Strong client services / financial services/ capital markets work experience or equivalent knowledge
  • Demonstrate/Exhibit through examples/evidence of strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigation
  • Demonstrated client servicing capabilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be resilient to pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Accuracy and attention to details at all times, and effectively manage deadlines and client expectations
  • Demonstrate/exhibit through examples/evidence excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work across functions & BUs, decision making, mentor/coach team members, manage conflict/problem solving and leadership with global teams
  • Has understanding of regulation and risk environment as it applies to the team
  • Knowledge of the investment management/asset servicing industry, acquired through experience, is critical for this position

Financial Markets

  • General knowledge of financial markets, the institutions that govern them and the major firms that operate in them
  • Specific knowledge of all relevant markets in different region viz. EMEA, US & APAC
  • An understanding of the various departments within Investment management world and how they interact with each other:
    • Front Office
    • Operations Departments: Valuations & Reporting, Settlements, Reconciliation, Data Management
    • Other Support Functions: Finance, Legal, Risk & Compliance
IT Systems

  • Understanding of the functional purpose of each system used in day-to-day processing.
  • Understanding of how the data in the various systems is interrelated.

Mandatory Requirement

  • Years working experience: >6 years
  • Experience in client support is mandatory to be considered for this role.
  • Highly flexible : Working in different shifts
  • Knowledge of capital markets essential with the knowledge of the investment management/asset servicing industry (preferable).

Eligibility

  • 24 Months as a Technical Coordinator /Associate Consultant to move as a Team Leader
  • Movement within TL and Consultant Level will be 12 months
