This role is for a Team Lead - Finance to oversee a team of 5 to 10 members and manage the daily operations of the finance department. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a strong background in financial accounting, reconciliation, and team management, responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and guide a team of 5 to 10 members.
- Perform and review month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Support in tax (VAT) data collection and submission for the UK and Europe.
- Establish and maintain strong financial controls.
- Set goals and conduct performance evaluations for the team, assist in hiring, and identify training needs.
- Provide timely feedback, manage workload, and conduct regular team meetings to motivate members.
- Document and update department procedures/SOPs.
Skills
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Finance and reconciliation.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Experience in conducting variance analysis and implementing process improvements.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in handling tax data collection and financial controls.
- Experience with audits and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- A professional degree in Accounting / Finance (CA/CPA).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Financial Accounting.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in leading a team.
- Experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) is preferable.
