We are looking for a Team Lead - Documentation Engineering to guide and support our Tissue Machines Technology Unit documentation team in Pune, India. This is a senior-level role combining documentation engineering expertise with team coordination responsibilities.
The Documentation Engineering team develops clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that helps customers understand and operate complex products and technologies. By translating technical information into accessible content, the team ensures a high-quality user experience while reducing support needs. Close collaboration with engineers, developers, and product managers is essential to maintain documentation that is accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
In this role, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, well-structured, and user-friendly documentation, supporting customers in understanding and operating complex products and technologies. You will coordinate the team's daily activities while remaining actively involved in complex and critical documentation work, balancing hands-on contributions with team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Engineering
- Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content
- Document products, systems, and processes within the Tissue mill domain
- Develop manuals, instructions, and training materials
- Maintain and structure content within the Content Management System (CMS)
- Evaluate and improve existing documentation to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure all materials meet company and industry standards for quality, clarity, and compliance
Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate the daily work of the documentation team
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to team members
- Ensure consistency, quality, and structure across all documentation deliverables
- Contribute hands-on to complex and critical technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align documentation with project needs
What You Bring
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical documentation or technical writing
- Strong expertise in documentation standards and best practices
- Proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear, structured content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with Simplified Technical English (STE) is an advantage
- Hands-on experience with XML and Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro, or similar
- Strong coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, mentor, and support a team while remaining hands-on
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related technical field
