About the Role
The Team Lead - Admissions plays a pivotal role in driving the success of SST's admissions pipeline. You will lead a pod of Admission Counsellors, ensuring high-quality conversations, disciplined funnel movement, and exceptional parent–student experience. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of the Indian engineering education landscape, and the ability to coach consultants to consistently deliver high standards of communication, accuracy, empathy, and performance.
You will be responsible for both people leadership and revenue ownership, from daily standups to identifying funnel gaps, handling complex cases, and aligning cross-functional teams for smooth admissions operations.
What you will do/Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, mentor, and manage a pod of Admissions Consultants.
- Conduct daily stand-ups, weekly performance reviews, and 1:1 coaching.
- Listen to calls, audit communication quality, and provide structured feedback.
- Build consultant capability in objection handling, tonality, consultative conversations, and disciplined follow-ups.
Funnel & Performance Ownership
- Own the team's KPIs across test registrations, offer to acceptance conversions, fee collections, and refunds.
- Track daily funnel movement and ensure predictable progress.
- Identify bottlenecks such as academic queries, parent hesitations, and intervene proactively.
- Run weekly data reviews and share insights with leadership.
Quality, Compliance & Information Accuracy
- Ensure the team maintains 100% accuracy in all information shared with stakeholders.
- Uphold SST's high communication standards – empathetic, mature, clear.
- Monitor call quality and enforce QA benchmarks.
- Flag misinformation, tone issues, or process misses immediately and retrain where necessary.
Parent–Student Experience Excellence
- Handle high-stakes conversations with top academic families or complex cases requiring senior intervention.
- Support consultants with sensitive decision moments - fee deadlines, financial considerations, academic comparisons.
- Conduct campus tours and represent SST professionally during in-person meets or virtual sessions.
Process Building & Non-Cycle Responsibilities
- Refine workflows for improved lead hygiene, follow-ups, and O2A handling.
- Support school outreach and top-of-funnel building during non-admissions months (Sept–Dec).
- Help design scripts, frameworks, FAQs, and training materials for future hiring cycles.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Engineering/experience in working in the Indian Engineering education space is mandatory.
Experience
- 3-4 years of experience in admissions, sales or high-interaction roles in ed-tech companies (counselling, customer-facing roles) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of team management experience is mandatory.

- Ability to handle parent conversations with confidence, warmth, and clarity.
