Role Description

We are seeking full-time (on-site) Teaching Associates for the Faculty of Planning in the Master of Urban Infrastructure (MUI) program at CEPT University, located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The role involves assisting faculty members in studios and core subjects, mentoring students in terms of technical skill building, and coordinating academic activities in the Spring Semester 2026. Teaching Associates will support studio-based learning initiatives and assist in the organization of lectures, workshops, and events related to the program.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and skills about urban infrastructure (physical and social infrastructure components such as water, sanitation, public health and hygiene, blue-green infrastructure, and recreational infrastructure, among others), sustainable development, and climate resilience.
• Proficiency in geo-spatial methods, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and report writing.
• Excellent academic support and communication skills.
• Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration and ability to contribute to innovative curriculum development.
• A master's degree in Planning or a related discipline is required. Familiarity with contemporary urban challenges, infrastructure systems, and policy frameworks is advantageous.
• Ability to work in Ahmedabad and dedication to fostering academic excellence and student engagement.

Position

Full-time Teaching Associate for the MUI program at the Faculty of Planning (FP), specifically for the City Infrastructure Planning (CIP) Studio.

Job Duration

5^th January 2026 23^rd May 2026 (6 months contract - exact dates in the contract might vary).

Remuneration: As per University pay bands (approx. Rs. 40,000 55,000 per month based on the years of experience for a full-time TA)

Minimum Qualifications: A Master's Degree in Planning or Geomatics, or a related discipline in the urban infrastructure sector, is required.

Work Experience Required: minimum 1 year

Prerequisites: good working knowledge of GIS, statistics, and visual communication

The full-time commitment is 8 hours/day in a typical 5-day work week. The selected candidates cannot do any other professional work during their full-time contract at CEPT.

The Roles and Responsibilities of the TA include:

1. The Teaching Associate will assist tutors in the studio and core subjects. The Teaching Associate will coordinate with other TAs from the different studio units and make sure that there is parity in teaching, grading, and other academic processes in the Studio.
2. Be punctual, organized, and sincere about the task assigned, and lead by example to the student group.
3. The TA will assist faculty members in preparing exercises and in conducting studio sessions and weekly evaluations. This would also include taking up preparatory exercises, trial runs, a week before the studio starts.
4. The TA should be able to engage in independent sessions with the students about specific skills, studio exercises, and various urban infrastructure planning concepts.
