Company Description Freedom Employability Academy (FEA) is a nonprofit organization focused on providing disadvantaged youth in India with a path to professional employment through free, one-year intensive coaching programs. FEA operates over 1,000 branches across 10 states in north India, serving more than 60,000 urban and rural students with structured, in-person classes. Its curriculum, inspired by best practices from top global universities, builds English language proficiency, non-cognitive skills, digital literacy, and ethical, productive mindsets. Programs combine technology, peer interaction, and lecture-based learning to foster lifelong learning, adaptability, and self-directed growth. A large-scale randomized evaluation by Stanford University has shown that completing FEA's urban course can significantly increase a student's lifetime earnings, highlighting the tangible impact of the academy's work.
Role Description The Teacher at FEA in Begusarai will facilitate in-person classes, guiding students through English language, digital skills, and non-cognitive skill development in line with FEA's curriculum. This full-time, on-site role includes planning and delivering daily lessons, leading interactive activities, and using a mix of technology, peer learning, and discussion-based methods. The Teacher will monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of attendance and performance. The role also involves mentoring students on professional behavior, ethical decision-making, and lifelong learning habits, as well as collaborating with other FEA team members to continuously improve teaching practices. The Teacher is expected to create an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and supports diverse learning needs.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience facilitating learning for youth or young adults.
  • Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning and Training skills to design and deliver structured, engaging classes.
  • Candidates should possess clear and empathetic Communication skills for explaining concepts, guiding discussions, and providing feedback.
  • Candidates should possess an understanding of employability-focused education, including English language, digital literacy, and soft skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor's degree in Education, English, Social Sciences, or a related field are preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi, familiarity with classroom technology, and prior experience working with disadvantaged or first-generation learners are beneficial.
  • Ability to work full time on-site in Begusarai, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and maintain a learner-centered, inclusive teaching approach is required.
