Job Summary
The TCF / GA Engineer will be responsible for process and facility planning of Trim, Chassis & Final (TCF) / General Assembly (GA) lines. The role focuses on achieving optimal productivity, quality, and delivery through robust process design, digital validation, and continuous improvement aligned with world-class manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process Planning & Engineering
- Plan and develop TCF/GA assembly processes and facilities
- Perform DFA (Design for Assembly) validation and provide feedback to design teams
- Conduct simultaneous engineering activities for new product development
- Define and implement layout planning for assembly lines
Project & Implementation
- Manage project planning, execution, and monitoring
- Prepare RFQs and evaluate techno-commercial proposals
- Support installation, commissioning, and equipment prove-out
- Plan and implement tightening tools and assembly equipment
- Execute line balancing and station calculations
Process Validation & Improvement
- Perform digital validation to identify assembly issues and propose solutions
- Resolve line-side issues and support shopfloor problem-solving
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Implement Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) solutions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Quality & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain:
- PFD (Process Flow Diagram)
- PFMEA (Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
- Control Plan
- Work Instructions & Station BOM
- Ensure effective implementation of quality control processes
Prototype & Development Support
- Support prototype builds and new product introductions
- Develop jigs, fixtures, gauges, and low-cost automation solutions
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CFT)
- Manage customer communication and technical discussions
- Present project progress reports and updates
- Work with internal & external stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently
General Responsibilities
- Handle assembly and quality-related issues on TCF lines
- Participate in continuous training and development
- Keep updated with latest manufacturing and engineering trends
- Undertake special projects and improvement initiatives
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of TCF / GA assembly processes
