Job Summary: We are looking for a qualified Tax Specialist – Direct Tax to join our finance team in Chennai. The role focuses on ensuring direct tax compliance, managing assessments, and providing strategic tax advisory. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Indian direct tax laws and the ability to manage audits and reporting independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file income tax returns and tax audit reports
• Ensure compliance with TDS, advance tax, and other direct tax provisions
• Provide advisory on corporate tax planning and transactions
• Manage tax assessments, audits, and liaise with tax authorities
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess business impact
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting and a professional qualification in Taxation
• 3 years of experience in direct taxation is mandatory, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry
• In-depth knowledge of Indian direct taxation
• Experience with tax audits, scrutiny assessments, and TDS compliance
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proficiency in tax software and MS Excel
• Exposure to transfer pricing is a plus
